Rainbow’s E-commerce Department has been working hard since the beginning of the pandemic to offer our customers a better online shopping option. Our intention is to reclaim our labor—focusing on establishing stronger worker ownership and being more aligned with our mission—while also making our Curbside and Delivery options more user friendly.
With the help of Homesome, a local developer, we’ve been able to expand our online offerings, provide access to more of our products, and have a direct connection with our digital customers.
When you order your groceries directly from Rainbow, you are supporting a 46-year-old local worker-owned cooperative and one of San Francisco’s Legacy Businesses.

Rainbow’s Curbside Pick Up has partnered with Homesome to allow customers to conveniently order online and Rainbow workers will shop and pack orders. Curbside is run completely by Rainbow, allowing for its workers to maintain ownership of their labor.
Rainbow’s delivery option is shopped by Rainbow workers. Delivery services are provided through Homesome—who partners with 3rd-party companies to facilitate the delivery of products to our customers.
