Throughout the duration of the global pandemic, Rainbow has prioritized safety for everyone who enters our doors—both customers and workers alike. We have taken many steps towards maintaining the safety standards set forth by local government as well as extending procedures and protocols for the wellness of our store.
Below you will find a list of procedures we’ll continue maintaining until the membership of Rainbow and the City of San Francisco decide it’s safe to return to regular operations.
We continue to regularly sanitize high-touch surfaces—scales, handles, countertops, shopping cards, etc.—with 70% isopropyl alcohol throughout each day.
Due to the recent health order issued by the City of San Francisco, we’re able to operate at 50% maximum customer capacity, which is 297 people.
Rainbow has chosen to lower our capacity to 85 to further ensure customers and workers are able to maintain regular social distancing while in the store.
We make frequent announcements throughout the day to remind everyone that social distancing and proper face coverage is required to be inside Rainbow.
Below is a consolidation of our COVID-19 updates and store-wide changes.
Please read them as protocols may have changed since your last visit.

We are working our hardest to provide for the community while ensuring the members of our cooperative are rested, healthy, and safe. We are all in this together. With your help and consideration, we will continue to make shopping at Rainbow as safe as possible. Thank you for your time.
